FAQ

• How do I find stuff a user, submitted, and/or commented on?

  Whenever a user submits, votes, or comments on a submission, the activity is bookmarked and stored within their profile. Visit the "View my friends" tab in your profile, and you'll see your friends, click on there username to view submissions, votes, comments, and more. To visit the profile of a person who's not a friend, click on their username anywhere on the site or enter the address manually: ratemyideas.com/user.php?login=username.

• How do I invite a friend?

  Inviting friends is easy - just click on any username you see on Ratemyideas to go to that user's profile. Click the button next to their username that says "Add to my friend". You can also find, add, and remove your friends by using the search bar located in your user profile and clicking on the "Add/Remove" icon next to there username. You can also search for users by username, email, name, or location.

• How do I submit a URL?

  To share a market idea with the community, you can submit an embedded video URL or image using our easy to use submission form. We'll give you options to provide a title, description, and the proper category for your submission. You have to be registered and signed into your Ratemyideas account to submit ideas.

• Where can I report spammers?

  Please report any/all abuse to contact@ratemyideas.com. Be sure to include the URL of the spammer's profile, the URL of their idea, or the URL of their comment. Also make sure to email us from the email address associated with your Ratemyideas account and it will be investigate.

• Can I submit non-English content?

  Ratemyideas is currently only an English-language content site. Please do not submit non-English content. We might have plans to expand into other languages in the future.

• Can I submit my idea under a category that is not listed?

  If your content does not fall under any of Ratemyideas categories, then please submit under the most relevant one.

• Can I submit porn, or pornography?

  No. This is not a porn site. Any porn submissions will result in an immediate ban and/or account deletion.

• How can I delete an idea I submitted?

  Please email us at contact@ratemyideas.com to remove your idea. Be sure to include the URL you want to remove. You must be the original submitter of the idea to request a removal and you must email us from the email address associated with your account.

• How can I edit an idea I submitted?

  Please email us at contact@ratemyideas.com to edit your idea. Be sure to include the URL you want to edit as well as the updated title, category, or description. You must be the original submitter to request a change. Also make sure to email us from the email address associated with your account.

• How can I edit a comment I made?

  Once you have logged into Ratemyideas, you can edit your comments anywhere on our site by clicking on the 'comment' link at the bottom of every idea that you have commented on. You can also view and edit comments in your User Profile area by clicking on 'commented'.

• Is it ok to put my website link as a signature in comments?

  No, it is not okay to advertise anything of any kind in the comments section. We ask that, as a commenter, you keep your comments on-topic to the idea you're currently on. Any irrelevant links, spam, etc. could result in an account ban for the offending user.

• Is it ok to have more than one account?

  No. To protect the integrity of the system, our policy is one person, one account. This is to help prevent users from artificially inflating Vote counts, which is explicitly against our Terms of Use.

• I want to delete my account, how do I do that?

  You can request for your account removal by emailing us at contact@ratemyideas.com. Please keep in mind that this action cannot be reversed. Also make sure to email us from the email address associated with your account.

• Why did you delete my account and remove my history?

  Do not violate our Terms of Use. This is in order to protect the integrity of our system for the good of our community. Example violations include spamming, hate speech, pornography, etc. If the abuse was severe enough, then it will warrant an account removal.

• How do I change my email address?

  You can change your email address in the Modify Profile section of your User Profile.
